The story goes that Apollo cursed the prophesy gift he gave Cassandra: she’d see and tell the truth, but no one would believe her. But what if that was not the way it was at all? What if Apollo hadn’t cursed his gift? So why won’t the Spartans heed Cassandra’s warning about the Trojan horse and save themselves?
APOLLO
Listen, Cassandra. If it was only that easy….
CASSANDRA
It is easy! Send a plague to the warrior inside, you’re Apollo the god of
plagues and many other things.
APOLLO
Now, Cassandra…
CASSANDRA
Or create a wind and blow that horse into the sea, Apollo, god of wind and
many other things.
APOLLO
I’m not god of wind. You’d have to contact Boreas for that.
